At the SCPN we are supporting the wee c. The wee c hopes to encourage people to overcome their fear and get potential symptoms of cancer checked early, attend regular screening appointments and return bowel screening kits. On Monday 24th August, the wee c launched the campaign’s first initiative #GetChecked.The #getchecked campaign aims to make checks synonymous with early detection, so that every time someone sees a check they think about getting checked, attend screening when invited, or encourage a loved one to do the same. Members of the public were encouraged to take a ‘check selfie’ showing an item of check as a visual prompt for making people think about getting checked, either themselves or nudging a friend or relative. We were not going to miss out on the fun so on Monday 24th August, to coincide with the launch of #GetChecked, we donned checked shirts in a good cause! We’ll leave you to judge the results the least we can say is the photo is memorable so will hopefully act as a good prompt!
