The SCPN’s August 2019 campaign saw our focus shift to #eatingoutwithkids and the often tricky dilemmas this can leave for parents. What we eat as children matters as it can impact our health and cancer risk all the way into adulthood. Eating out was once a special treat but in today’s busy society we find ourselves consuming food away from home and more often. With evidence showing that eating at food outlets, leisure places and “on the go” are associated with less healthy food choices than eating at home how can parents tackle the diverse landscape of children’s food? Through our blog page we were given the differing perspectives of the challenges of #eatingoutwithkids through the eyes of a Granny, Mother and Father as well as an interesting blog from First Steps Nutrition of the challenges of healthy eating for babies and toddlers.
